The fastest growing chimney sweeping, inspecting and testing company in the UK is now expanding into Ibiza!

Mr Soot owner David flew to the island last night to sign the lease on a new, state-of-the-art European HQ on Calle De Bromas, right in the heart of Ibiza Town.

The news will create 20 new jobs for ‘deshollinadors’ (chimney sweeps) as well as employment for office and finance staff.

David said: “It’s fair to say the Balearics has gone bananas for Mr Soot! Bookings are already coming in thick and fast.

“I’ve wanted to open a European branch for ages. but feared Brexit would scupper our plans. Amazingly though, the sweeping changes in regulations have actually benefitted us.

“For example, because we’re not tied to Brussels diktats anymore, British sweeping companies operating in the EU don’t have to take mandatory siestas or wear top hats, like they do in Europe.

“It’s great we’ve been able to Take Back Control of our sleep routines and uniforms.”

Mr Soot’s newly-appointed Director of Sweeping for the Balearic Islands, Manuel Rods-Riguez, told the media outlets: “Mr Soot is already a big name in the UK, as we see them on the TV news regularly, so the brand is catching on fast here as well.

“In fact, many locals are referring to us already as ‘Señor Soot’!”

Mr Soot’s management also confirmed they have also set their sights on expanding in to other European countries such as Portugal, Greece and Turkey.

“These places may be very warm, inviting, with excellent food,  drink, and lovely beaches, but that is all purely a coincidence,” stressed David.

“I’m personally not interested in sun, soot and sangria – I like the cold weather too much. A wet Wednesday in Westhoughton is more my thing. I’d be a complete fool to miss April in the UK.”
