Mr Soot is in the news again!

Our owner David features in an article about how people are turning to logburners in a bid to keep warm this winter.

Talking about the increased demand for services, David told The i Paper:

“This has been the busiest August ever for pre-install sweeping and inspections, which take place before you install a fire.

“Last winter was quite manic but I think this year will be busier. Pretty much every customer is mentioning the gas prices, and how they’re planning to use their stoves, woodburners and open fires more.

“The difference this year is that the concern about prices cuts across every demographic. It’s not just older people or the unemployed; it’s even young professionals with well-paid careers who you would normally associate with having more disposable income.

“Previously, they may have used that cash to go on holiday. Now, they are investing it in woodburners in an effort to cut their future heating bills.”

It’s not the first time Mr Soot has appeared in national media. Last year, as well as articles in national and international press, David was interviewed by Radio 4 about winter heating bills.

David said: “It’s important that, as industry professionals, we get out there and get our voices heard in the media.

“We understand the importance of effective and constant communication, which is why journalists and media outlets turn to us for comment and reaction about newsworthy issues.”
