England’s dream ending to Euro 2020 may have eluded them – but one local company is feeling just champion!
Mr Soot Chimney Sweep’s social media campaign has been hailed a resounding success, with hundreds of interactions on their Facebook page and website during the tournament.
The campaign sprung into life with Mr Soot changing its logo for England’s semi final clash with Denmark.
And for the final, a series of Facebook updates generated scores of positive responses.
A ‘good luck’ posting secured over 500 likes. But this was easily beaten by a post-final message lauding Gareth Southgate’s men, which brought in over 1,000 likes.
Mr Soot owner David, who led the campaign, said: “We are thrilled and, to be honest, a little surprised we got so many interactions.
“There can be a certain level of world-weariness watching England but this time it was different.
“The way the team as a whole conducted themselves really caught people’s imaginations.
“Our messaging was quite simple but it certain seems to have chimed with the mood of the nation.
“We wanted to have a bit of fun with the postings and I think that’s why they did so well.
“For a smaller, local business to get this level of attention on social media is fantastic. Fortunately, this also transferred into increased website traffic and bookings for our sweeping and inspection services.
“We know this because many customers have told us that they’d seen our posts supporting the lads and really liked them.”
David revealed the company – which covers Manchester, Liverpool, Wigan and Stockport – has now been approached by marketing agencies who were impressed by the mini campaign and want to work with them in future.
“I think they have been surprised that a trades business does much marketing at all, at least not this type,” said David.
“But, as I’ve said before, we aim to be unique so we’re quite happy to stand out from the crowd.
“When dealing with us, you get a prompt, professional and friendly service. And people respond positively to that.
“That’s why we’re one of the fastest growing chimney sweeping companies in the country. And, just like with the England team, the best is yet to come…”
