Mr Soot Chimney Sweep is delighted to officially welcome its latest new recruit.

Miles joined the rapidly-expanding company back in January. Since then, he has undergone five months of intensive on-the-job-training via our Mr Soot Training Academy Programme.

This saw the father-of-one undertake on the job shadowing our HETAS-approved sweep technicians as well as studying the theory and technical aspects relating to chimneys.

Following months of hard work, Miles has now successfully passed his sweep exams. He joins David and Peter as a full-time sweep technician covering Manchester, Liverpool, Wigan, Stockport, Wirral, Warrington, Preston and Bolton.

Miles said: “I’m delighted to have passed my sweep exams. The Mr Soot Training Academy Programme really has given me a fantastic grounding in all aspects of the role.

“It focuses on the fact that it’s not just a job – it’s a full career with clear goals and progression.

“The encouragement I’ve had from David, Peter and Sam as part of the programme has been fabulous. Mr Soot has a real culture of professionalism, openness and teamwork.

“I’m really looking forward to meeting more of our customers over the coming weeks and months.”

Mr Soot owner David said this latest move to grow the company further is down to customer demand.

“Last autumn, I publicly stated the industry needs more sweeps. So we acted on that with the appointment of Miles as an additional, full-time sweep technician,” said David.

“The demand for professional sweep technicians is growing, and as a company we are committed to investing in our workforce. 

“With Miles joining the team, we now have more sweeps on the road, covering more areas and offering more appointments than ever before.

“Our goal is to offer the best customer service experience possible, with fully-staffed offices, minimal waiting times, and high quality sweeping and servicing.”
