Mr Soot Chimney Sweep has secured yet more positive media coverage – leading local responses to the housecoal sale ban.
David and Peter were featured on Wigan Today and Eye On Southport, commenting on how the new rules would benefit each area.
Under current legislation, only parts of Wigan and Southport are Smoke Control Areas. This means it’s an offence to burn housecoal in certain parts.
However, because of its wide availability more generally, David and Peter pointed out that many people were unwittingly committing an offence.
The articles also referenced David’s role as a co-founder of Burnright, the grass roots campaign aimed at educating woodburner, multi fuel stove and open fire users on how to use their fireplaces in a responsible way.
David said: “As a company, we understand how vital it is to help the wider public understand what modern sweeps do, and how we can advise on a whole range of solid fuel-related subjects.
“We do this regularly via our own website as well as regular media updates and press releases. Working with local, regional and national journalists is key to getting our message to as wide an audience as possible.”
