Back In The News: David shares expert tips with home and design media

Mr Soot is back in the news – this time giving expert tips on how to burn safely and responsibly.

Our owner David, who is also the co-founder of grassroots campaign Burnright, was interviewed by Livingetc about the differences between seasoned and kiln dried logs.

The demand for wood this winter has prompted fears that there may be shortages, with more people trying to source their own fuel.

David told Livingetc: “Many people don’t understand that you can’t just throw logs on a fire and they will burn. The practice of making a fire in the home is something of a lost art, but it’s making a comeback – through necessity for some people.”

The article also featured experts from the Stove Industry Alliance.

It’s just the latest in a string of national media appearances for Mr Soot which, in the last few weeks, has appeared live on GB News as well as in the Mail on Sunday, The Daily Telegraph, The i Paper and The Daily Star.

David said: “It’s clear that – just like our customers – the media is increasingly recognising that Mr Soot is one of the main go-to chimney sweeping, inspecting and testing companies in the UK.

“We are always happy to help get the message out there about the need for regular sweeping and inspection, as well as giving hints and tips on how to get the best out of your fuel and appliance.

“Modern-day sweep technicians do so much more than sweep chimneys. So it’s great that – through the media – more people are getting to see that.”
